Returning to the Land of Ninja
« on: March 06, 2015, 10:20:30 PM »

Evening all

Jings my login still works after 9 years, used to have a ZX9r and a 2006 ZX10r when they came out. I have just bought myself a lovely 2005 C2H Model , one owner 6500 miles and minted.

Well chuffed to be back on  a Ninja and a Kawasaki.  I have had an R1 and a 2012 Blade since those days but now have added this to my garage.  My other bikes are a triumph thunderbird LT and a Tiger 800.  I know you are thinking WTF but  I have just turned 50 but obviously like my comfy slipper on one foot and doc martin on the other. [rofl]  Pick it up next Saturday. Canny wait.

Cheers

Paul

Hi All

Went into see it today, and seriously it is like a new bike, I am not just saying that I have the snaps to prove it.  But the most amazing thing is the one previous owner lives a little more than 100 yards from me.  I went around to his house tonight not only a top bloke that filled me in on its life but he has a stack of after market parts for it that he is going to do me a great deal - Steering damper, rear cowl, proper Kawasaki workshop manual, rear sets, akrapovic Exhaust system, power commander etc...
I reckon I have come across the most amazing deal on the planet and when you see the photos hopefully you will agree.  Also to live around the corner from the one owner with all the best after market parts in his garage is amazing luck.

Cheers

Paul

Well here is my bike, its a one owner 2005 model with 6500 miles on the clock, absolutely mint.  I bought if from my local dealer where I have bought all my bikes over the last 7 years.  I paid £4400 for it.

The amazing part is the guy who owned it for 10 years and mothered it to death had traded it in for a new Triumph Street Triple.  It turned out that the bloke lives about 300 yards from me.  So I popped into see him last Saturday and he was a lovely older bloke who was obviously a perfectionist.  He has a stack of top quality items that he had removed from the bike, it was his summer toy and he said it only ever saw rain once and never salty roads but I think the condition backs that up.  I have some off the bits off him.   Of course the Irony is that I missed the opportunity to do a private deal with him.  But in the last 5 years he was only doing 300 miles a year and so that's why I have never saw it out and about.  Still I think I got it for a very good price from my dealer considering its condition, mileage and history etc...  I will have a years MOT, Serviced and 3 month Warranty.

I have also struck up a new friendship, the previous owner is a canny bloke and we are going to get out for some runs in the summer.  The bike was a labour of love for him, part of him is glad that its gone to me but he also thought it was gone as it was not easy to part with.  He had thought about it for a few years but could not bring himself to do it.

Being an older bloke myself I have added it to my insurance policy with not to much extra cost, I have two other bikes.  I am going to pick it up on the 3rd April, I have also ordered a R&G radiator guard for it.

Bits I bought from the owner, I was going to buy more but decided these were the bits I really wanted.
Sprint Steering Damper
Genuine Workshop Manual
Rear Seat Cowl
Front Fork Bobbins
Akrapovic Silencer and link pipe
Power Commander Mk3

Took the LT out for a ride today, lovely day but still on the cold side.  Anyway took my partner to see the bike and to hand in the damper so that it can get fitted for me picking it up.  She was well impressed with my find but she is happy to stay on the LT

A week on Friday - Counting down :icon_thumleft:
