Are you a toolaholic?
« on: May 21, 2007, 10:23:16 AM »

Someone asked this on another site, and I thought of you guys  ;-)

Well I currently need a 3rd torque wrench.

When I recently changed my front sprocket, I ended up buying 2 of the same size sockets, impact and long, because you never know when you might need a longer one, or a stronger one.

I have a trolley jack and axle stands that I've never used. But will!

My jigsaw has never been out of its case. But will be called into service when I make new speaker mounts in the next few weeks!

Last weekend my wife asked about one of the neatly stacked tool cases - it is my 3rd set of drill bits. I know the first set came with the cordless drill, and the second set is titanium, but I'm not too sure why I bought the last set!? There will be a very good reason though!  :icon_scratch:

When I bought my second set of files, a voice in the back of my head was saying, "you already have a set... somewhere". The voice was right.

I know what my next purchase will be even though I don't know when I might need to use it - I have to get some Easy Outs. (My impact driver was a similar inspired purchase - anyone who has ever stripped a soft allen bolt right in the middle of major bike surgery then remembered their impact driver and spare tub of bolts, will appreciate the emotional rollercoaster of despair :( followed by ellation :) )

Compared to Yogi I am probably a borderline case...

I think Mikey and Keiron are prime cases and Andy J is borderline.....

I on the other and and a tool-mong-aholoc    I have very sparse set of not very useful tool throw untidily into a box that take half an hour to find in my garage and usually get sworn at a few time whilst being used.......  this tell me I am not a tool man ..... so I just pay for important things to be done...

or badger a very kind and generous tool man (ahem Yogster  [whistle][rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

Well I keep thinking I should but an SDS drill - 'Just In Case I need one one day'. There's nothing wrong with you. ) Oh I own two trolley jacks as having two is easier than one. I thought everyone owned a set of standard and deep sockets.
