Based on what they say, 15 death were bikers, (55.6%) , the maths dont work.  If 26 killed, 14.456 bilkes killed. If there were 27 deaths, 15.012 bikers killed. Either way it means there were 11 or 12 car drivers. We know we are more vunerable, so how did that many car drivers manage to kill themselves ?
The thing is bikes make up less than 2 % of the road users, so statistically the death rate for bikes is sky high in comparrison to cars.

Fair point, which I didnt think of.

"In an effort to reduce the number of deaths and casualties, high visibility patrols have been out in force during the holiday weekend cracking down on bikers who flout the law. "

Just watched our regional news, and police round these parts will be targeting bikes all summer as someone was clocked doing 170mph along the A47 and someone else was clocked overtaking a line of traffic at 110mph, still, hopefully it's the same bullshit propaganda they spout every year which means they'll patrol a few bike routes a couple of times then piss off back to the sty.
What area is that then?

east anglia, but i live in bedfordshire

Noticed this on another site.

Have a read.

http://www.strathclyde.police.uk/index.asp?docId=4118

If things get much worse i can see me selling up. Not just the bike but out this country.... :-(

Just the usual Copper propaganda machine......take no notice....I lived in Edinburgh for 2 years and Scotland is a biking paradise...it's like one huge racetrack.....the roads are largely empty, wide and well surfaced and there just aren't enough dibbles to cover the huge amount of territory........I used to ride the A7 run from Edinburgh to Gallashiels and back 2 or three times a week in the summer.......great road, fast sweepers though hills and forests and largely deserted.......I didn't see a single police car or speed camera in 2 years........

Just ride within your limits......plan your petrol stops and enjoy........
