Hi, I'm in the process of fitting an 08 swingarm to my d7f. Are there any changes to be made to the linkage or dogbones? What about rear shock?

You need to use the 08 linkage and dogbones or it'll look like a slammed Yank PoS.
06 shock fits fine unless its a WP in which case the res fouls the casting.

No - fixings are different spacings.
04/05, 06/07, 11/14 all the same spacing
