Convince Me...!
« on: June 27, 2014, 05:15:11 AM »

Hammy, Chris,

German WSBK, 2009 - Black & White Aprilia - remember me?

I need your advice........Started racing the Aprilia in the local clubman rounds (2nd's & 3rd's) so far but need more HP on the straights. Am just about to buy either an S1000RR or ZX10 but need some input re the ZX10.

Now I know you guys will be biased.................but appreciate any insights in what to watch out for, typical 'trick bits' spares availability (a pain in the butt for Aprilia's...!), any particular model to avoid or aim for?

Cheers guys - I'm all ears.

Scozzer

I'm thinking no older than 2012. Are there any

kawasakis are fast, can be difficult to get a good setting parts are much cheaper than bmw. The superstock grid doesnt tell fibs about the best current bike for racing.

Thanks guys.

Looks like there is a 2012 here in Perth (Aus) with 5000km on it. Could be just the ticket. How are they for brakes and suspension (I've been spoilt with Brembo/Ohlins)?

Cheers,

the brakes benefit hugely from a brembo master cylinder, you wont find any race bikes with stock suspension. Ktec works well on these as does Bitubo.

Done it!

Bought a 2012 racer, full race system, factory ecu, pcV & Q/S, Brembo master cyl, ohlins TTX on rear- let the 2015 season commence, I am so looking forward to warp speed on the straights - loved the RSVR but lacked the legs sadly......

Now, this is where I need some expertise - what's the concensus on fork internals???? Ohlins or K-Tech?

Cheers,
Scozzer
