Shed security ideas
« on: March 23, 2014, 09:06:29 PM »

I want to beef up the security of my shed a little bit. Anyone got any ingenious ideas?

Best thing I saw for a shed was a metal cage, made from square section steel, cut and welded to exactly fit inside a wooden shed. The bloke opened the wooden shed door and you were confronted with a steel 'cell' door with good quality locks top and bottom.

Or one of these - http://www.shippingcontainersuk.com/m6b0s1p52/STORAGE-CONTAINERS-7ft-New-Steel-Site-Bike-Store-2013

Mate wired the mains to his garage door, I don't recommend that though, neither did the cops who were called to find an unconscious thief, 10 feet away from said door, out cold.

There were threats of Attempted Murder being thrown around at one stage but it all blew over.

So yeah, I'm no help.

Wait! Get a dog! Best security system I ever had.

What about some sort of PIR system that sets off a fuck off loud siren. You could have a hidden switch to disarm it while you're in the shed so you don't scare the shit out of yourself  :tongue3:

My old shed was double skinned with osb board , with loads of locks on the inner door , a little cheaper than the old steel box job , I piled all the kids toys behind the door though for maximum noise effect if they did get through , was a feeker getting the bike out though
Just make it as much of a ball acher as poss really
Do like the electric option though ;)

230volt to the shed door sounds good to me :icon_thumright:
And maybe a warning sign, but not too small as to fall
in line with the numberplate police,
