If so how do you know its time.... do you wait til its too cold to ride in leathers or do you wait til they bring out that annoying salt stuff

I like to ride dry days in the winter.  I don't do salt though!  Usually it stays up on stands in the garage from about Nov to Feb.

I am not keen on the salt....

I judge my riding days on the ease of cleaning my bike.... If I think it will take to long I won't ride in it....

I know I know I am a lazy git

Well I hope there's still some nice weekends to come. Over here they have the annoying tendency that as soon as they see a little bit of snow....be it in Switzerland...they start salting the roads [wall] Don't mind the cold, but salt  :icon_puke_r:

when I bought my new 636 in 05 i rod it back in the rain and they had just salted the road took me ages to clean it and it ruined all the rubbers so I vowed not to take the 10 out in the salt

After running an R1 through last winter

I spent ages trying to keep on top of cleaning it etc, but it still looked well used

Plus a had quite a few scary moments on my daily commute

I now use my ER-5 in the bad weather, the ZX10R only comes out on un-salted roads  B-)

It's a lot easier to clean and maintain

Andy

I know, tell me about it

I commute 25 mile each way of which 90% is on national speed limit country roads. It's brilliant when the weather is nice, but it also means that my route isn't gritted in winter. I had quite a few scary moments on the R1

I can see Rossi's ER5 but no KTM, arggggggghhhh and I'm on a different computer . I think Glenn hides nice bikes from me to protect me from the power of buying bikes  :whip2:
