Zx10r race bike build.... the sequel

<< < (3/14) > >>

MR2Brett:
Lee,

I had a rite mare with the dyno.

I had it dyno,d with my decatted standard downpipes, link pipe and Leo vince gp pro can and it was only hitting 170s at the rear wheel, the reason for this was the exhaust wasn't allowing it to flow freely so therefore choking it. I also had an overfuel at 3k rpm which we thought was down to the exhaust restriction.
I then sourced a nice Leo vince full titanium system ex Tom Sykes from slingshot racing (similar to the one you had, different downpipe shape). It then went back on the dyno and had a massive overfuel at 6k. All the sensors were then checked to ensure they were within their operating range, which they were. It was then found that it was the firmware on the power commander but all sorted now so hopefully I,ll be pushing good figures now. It does feel a good strong engine though so very pleased, thanks.

LeeV:
sweet, that did sound like a hassle, bet you were worried for a while.

had some parts arrive last night so I can finish off all the bits under the airbox then carry on with the bazzaz and shifter

LeeV:
A little bit more done.
The pair valve resistor, blanking plates, air filter arrived in the post, so I could finish off with all the other bits under the airbox and then re install that.
So 1st up, fit the blanking plates and resistor

then block off the airbox with a nice cap,

next up
fit the HM shifer, and bazzaz loom

This is pretty easy to do, bit still took my time doing it so it was as neat as possible, 1 of my pet hates is untidy wiring... a tidy bike = a tidy mind.

On the top of the airbox, the injectors are neatly fitted, but to keep them nice and tidy, I drilled some small holes on the tabs for the loom so they can be cable tied in place, (not too tight tho, just enough to hold them in place)

Now that's fitted, run the remaining part of the looms alongside the oem loom, and tie into place.

Now, you remember when I removed the exhaust servo?
there are 2 lugs on the undertray that hold it in place, cut them off, flush with the tray, and then the bazzaz unit fits perfectly in its place

.

More parts are coming in the post.
got a great deal on a K-tech dds shock, and some other parts that i'll need for the build.
so keep watching chaps

:glasses9: love it mate. 10 out of 10

TinRibs:
Quality job Lee  :headbang:
I'm lovin this thread.  Wish I had your confidence...fitting those levers I got from you is about the extent of my bravery.
