I did the Chris Walker Race School today at Mallory Park. I didn't know how it would pan out but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The difference for this format for me was the instructors (all off the BSB grid) observe your riding and give advice for your individual needs. This was brilliant for me as opposed to going to a school such as California Superbike School which sticks to a rigid format rather than pin pointing individual fault finding. I benefitted greatly today but didn't demonstrate my gratitude very well as I binned the bike entering Gerrards on the Superpole session - completely uninjured the bike was extensively damaged - bars, rearsets, tank etc as it slid and tumbled when it reached the grass. This was a downer for me (and Mr Walker...) as I certainly did not intend to return the bike the worse for wear. Feeling quite bad about it actually. Very strange incident - there was no warning, entered Gerrards, bike settled nicely on my knee and gently wound it on (in 4th) and the rear end came around quite quickly and lowsided me, no indication or warning signals from the rear whatsoever - very warm, tyre was warm (hot actually) and the track was clean warm and dry. I can only think I over whelmed the tyre or the heat in it caused the pressure to be too great. I had a great day up until this time with Baz Burrell giving me some top tuition - he saw the incident and couldn't grasp my off - will post the footage when it reaches me on DVD. Top recommendations for the Chris Walker Race School - I would go back again.....If they'll have me.......Humble apologies Stalker, very, very sorry.
