The original 10R - 1st Gen
« on: August 19, 2013, 09:23:23 PM »

So,

I've not been on the site much as sometimes other stuff takes over doesn't it

Anyhow, my motor is stripped and hopefully new gearbox parts will arrive and be installed this week and then I'll be back riding again

It's been far too long and I'm looking forward to getting the old girl back on the road

I have an 05 10R and spent a small fortune on extras for it and can't believe that it's already 8 years sonce i bought it and I've only managed to cover 7k miles so far

An unusual issue found my engine in parts where the inner clutch basket pins are loose and 4/5th dogs are damaged so 5th gives all i can describe as machine gun fire, oh and a mouse decided to nest in the wiring last year, anyhow all will be sorted soon enough and i will get it back to immaculate for certain over the next few weeks, for the long standing members yes it still has 'pink' candy apple red wheels

Anyhow reading through threads on here isn't it incredible that there remains a lust for the original C1/2H models, what a bike !! (even with my gremlins) i just can't bring myself to ever selling it but do fancy falling back in love with it and perhaps taking on some mods in a year or so to bring it up to spec so to speak, but we'll see as MTB seems to drain my spare cash and time these days

Just bought my second 10R so know how you feel about getting on the mistress and giving her a good one. I re read the PB article this morning and it reminded me of why I bought one in the first place.  :tongue2:

well, my pal Phil has he motor completely stripped. Liam @ Corby Kawasaki gave me a bit of discount on the parts and in the next week or so Phil will have the engine rebuilt for me.

Meanwhile i am looking for a bit of assistance as a mouse has kindly chewed through some wiring so i will post up some pictures which i would like some pics returning of to show me how the wiring should look

thanks in advance

Yep, even when they go wrong (as mine did yesterday) you just get on with fixing them, why? Cause when they're running sweet they're worth the pain.  :tongue3:

25k miles and still going strong. I've tried all sorts of possible replacements, from S1k to Blades to ZZR1400s etc etc. The 10 has stayed with me throughout and I love it.

I agree , I have bought a c1h after owning a lot of gsxrs and there is no turning back now , it's such a naughty bike comparing to suzukis equivalent PBs review what bang on . "rude , crude and blunt" I'm hooked now
