Actiforce
« on: July 09, 2013, 04:00:07 PM »

I've just had a very pleasant morning at Pete Clifford's workshop, Actiforce.
At one point my bike was strewn across the place, tank, panel, seat etc off and the shock on the bench.
Knowing nothing about suspension I was dubious that I would be able to give him enough information to make any difference. Turns out losing 3.5 stone does make a difference :)
The front is now mint. Standard units, standard springs. Turns and stops and tracks beautifully. Unfortunately with everything wound up to one click of max my rear shock is nowhere near man enough for the way I ride. Chatters and skips all over the place. We have removed the shim stack from the top eye. By we, I mean we, he has no problem with you helping pull things to bits which is a refreshing change.
Looks like I'm in the market for an aftermarket shock tho. Bum :(
Can't afford a KTech/Ohlins. And he's not convinced a heavier spring and revalve would benefit me very much either.
What to do?? Any recommendations if I go the revalve/spring route?

Get a credit card with a long 0% interest deal, and get the shock you need?
