2009 ZX10R, Kent
« on: June 17, 2013, 07:31:14 PM »

Hi everyone!

I bought a 2009 zx10r from Laguna in Maidstone last November.  I was looking for something that could do a bit of everything - touring, track days and commuting.  It came down to a choice between a fire blade and the zx10r - no surprises as to which one won!

I paid a fair price for a mint bike with 5k miles on the clock and not many months later we are almost up to 12k!  I haven't done a lot to it other than:
  • New rear spring
  • Goodridge hoses & sintered pads
  • R&G crash protection
  • evotech exhaust hanger
  • stompgrips
  • soft renthal bargrips
  • KR Tuning exhaust can

I have done a few trackdays now at Brands, Lydden and I was lucky enough to get one in a Croft last month too which was an amazing day with beautiful weather.  On the wish list are an H&M quickshifter and some rearsets - recommendations or second hand offers welcome!

I had the suspension set up for me at Steve Jordan in Bookham - they come highly recommended if you are in the area.

Apologies for the gratuitous trackday pic and I look forward to picking your collective brains over this ownership.

Regards,

John

Thank you! I've seen quite a few black ones but most of them seem to have gold forks and black mid fairings (covering the coolant bottle area).  Was this an option or a year variant?

Hey Lee, would love to and thank for the offer but with any luck i will be heading through the pyrenees on Wednesday, on the zx10r obviously!  Have a great day on the 10th, i have done the indy track quite a few times but never the gp.  Will keep my fingers crossed weatherwise.

Regards,

John
