Storage
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:06:32 PM »

I've been offered one of these to store my bike in - http://www.mrbox.co.uk/container-gallery/new-20ft-container/# (generic picture) - apart from the heat (if the sun ever shines) potentially taking any fuel tank fumes upto ignition point, are there any other drawbacks to storing it in here?

Dave,
Alot off ship containers usually have some sort of ventulation holes in them, so should be no worries with the things you mentioned, they're as safe as houses. I slept in one for months in Bosnia lol!

i moved house and dont have a garage anymore i have a brick outbuilding that my bike just goes in but its too tight to do any work on it so my bike spends most of the time at our works yard in one of these containers and ive not noticed any problems so far and it spent all winter in there obviously make sure you have antifreeze in it and ive never noticed it getting that hot in there in summer mounths
