hi all
does anybody know a place that can cut the factory throttle cables and fitt custom ones inside the oe housings/guides,tried fitting my riflemans 1/5th insert and dont want to cut the lock nuts off or trim the threads...thinking if i can have longer cables fitted inside the oe ones(say 12mm longer) it would be spot on....
can it be done???

thats exactly the reason ive not fitted mine tbh id be interested in a similer solution

although somethings telling me a longer cable would negate the insert for some reason

Venhill will make cables to your spec. www.venhill.co.uk. We've used them for loads of obscure one off jobs.

i emailed venhill last week and they said send them a set of cables and we can talk about whats needed and see what we can do..but,

went through all the how-to's on .net and decided to do the following:
i cut 6mm off of each inner metal thread,and 9mm from each outer plastic adjuster to allow for keeping the lock nuts on....will see if it works in a few days when i fit my new hm shifter and new plugs all at the same time.. if it dont work i will sent venhill a set and see what can be done!
(took me 1 hr with the dremmel and was not easy! mega paranoid about catching the cable!!)

i just did not want too cut the lock nuts off as im worried about them coming loose lol...

The way I modded the cables worked a dream!
Still got adjustment on both cables and retained the lock nuts..
So there you go how to fit the 1/5th insert and keep lock nuts
