well i moved the clip ons so i feel a little more comfortable and adjusted the gear lever  the brakes are still vague going to change the pads first and see what happens
felt a lot happier with it cant wait for the sunshine and dry hotter roads so i can really test her out  :headbang:

Sorted mine out by replacing it all with: nissin calipers, braided lines, brembo mc  :icon_thumleft:

I just cleaned mine, changed to braided hoses and Brembo pads. Work spot on now. Suppose it depends whether you want to start putting a lot of coin into it.

SBS sintered work well for me. Initial grab is excellent and noticeably better over OEM, but that might be the new brake fluid too  :icon_scratch:

Oh and Gen 3 so not relevant either sorry  [wall]

Of course it's relevant, I fitted Gen 3 discs and calipers to my Gen 2 and the bike was transformed, just as they would transform a Gen 1.

I have monobloc Fireblade calipers off a new shape Blade, new braided lines and a '07 (or maybe '09, can't remember off-hand) ZX6R M/C on my '04 and I'm still not happy with the brakes.  [wall]

Just got my first 10 on Saturday, I had heard the brakes were a little dodgy at times but luckily mine has had R1 calipers fitted and it now has eye popping brakes not sure how easy a conversion that is though obviously as I never did it!

The R1 calipers are the dogs (2009 onwards mono blocks) ...  I just happen to have some brand new ones for sale if anyone wants them ;-)

I thought the 2009 R1 used the 130mm bolt spacing ?
