duck tape ?
« on: September 29, 2012, 05:58:05 PM »

If I put duck tape on the tail unit, where the zx10r stickers are, to protect against scuffing, will it lift the stickers when I remove the tape ?   :icon_scratch:
                                                               Cheers

Probably, unless you risk heating the duck tape before removing it. You can buy clear 'bodywork protection' stickers which may  be better.

You could lay a small piece of decorators masking tape over the stickers first to help. duct tape is a risk though...

I've put duck tape over the back of my bikes to protect the paint when I've had luggage on and never had a problem with it pulling decals off.

Masking tape can be difficult to get off if it gets wet and then dries again.

The best way to do it is smear a thin layer of Vaseline over the stickers first  :icon_thumright:
