Don't stick car oils in anything with a wet clutch ... Bike oil contains a friction modifier - car oils don't.

bit late now ive been doing it for 25 yrs lolol

one of the oil companies had their bike oil tested in a lab and the result was there was so little difference from their car oil that it looked like they just changed the label on the bottle...

There are differences between oils. Bike oils have to deal with higher revving engines and therefore more shear effects within the structure of the oil.

Mobil 1 is one of the best oils ever made and used in motor sport at the highest levels..
Does anyone really believe that a normal mineral oil thats sold as a motorbike oil is better than Mobil 1 just because it says for motorbikes on it....
There are many oils that will far exceed the shear test for bikes...its only the low friction enhancers that potentially could be a problem..
What you should never do is add molyslip etc to your bike to increase the amount of low friction enhancement..

Check this out...

http://www.gadgetjq.com/oils4.htm

one other thing i'd like to add to this.. buy the best oil filter you can buy...

cheap oil filters like the buy this oil get a free filter type are not as well constructed.. so do not filter the little particles as well as more expensive ones..always buy OE filters or better...i would go as far to say that any oil even standard oil that meets your needs and is changed on a regular basis is more than good enough and i believe its the filter thats  more important than the oil..

We're not doing sarcasm etc, we all want to know where these claims are. Do they have dyno run charts from various different cars that show this, or a scientific paper or an independent test done? If they can show this as a constant improvement on differing cars then yes it could be worth spending the additional money. If it is just one garage saying this with no backup then I'd be very wary.

I have heard of the crowd you use, and they are pretty good.

We've all heard of Ralliart and what they do, but at least they back it up either with independent testing or something.

What we need now is Oilman from Opie Oils to add his tuppenceworth.

Dave,
clark motorsport are well known in aberdeen and the info they had was proven  im offshore just now but i will be going in to ask questions when i go back. I hardly think the guys there are going to tell lies, they are well known rally experts race and build rally engines from scratch and wouldnt put their rep at risk for hear say.
When i was last out there they were saying testing has been done and been proved its not them saying improved bhp they are just passing on info. As above they wouldnt risk there rep for hear say.
