Just asked him if he had any Avon trackday tyres left over as he has 2 track bikes and does quite alot of trackday.... I said how much does he want for the rear and he said the price of changing the wheels around is fine which I think was slightly high but then again he did change all the sprocket and disc etc so wasn't just tyres and he took em off the bike etc so he was there quite a while... so the free tyre a good chin wag and a very top bloke he is...

Gary top bloke if your local to berkshire check him out

UPDATE
-----------------------

I had no email response from Avon so today i took the phone number to work with me and i phoned them up. I got put through to a really nice bloke called Ken Tucker that listened to the problem and said he would speak to the head of customer services called Paul and see what mileage they would expect out of one of these tyres and get back to me later in the day.

He phoned me back a couple of hours later and said they had found my email and checked the pics out and from what they could see from the pics that the mileage ive got was as expected due to my riding style  [rofl]

He said that in a good will gesture that they would offer me a free rear Avon viper sport that would be more suitable for getting better mileage on the road. He said if i was happy with that [rofl]

I said thanks very much for your help and im very happy with the offer of the free rear.

He was a great bloke and he seemed genuinely sorry about the whole thing and seemed that he couldnt do enough to help me out. I told him id got a track day booked for friday and he said he would have the tyre with me on Monday at my work at the latest :icon_thumleft:

The tyres may not last the longest but the customer service seems second to none. I wouldnt expect someone like pirreli or michelin to of been like that.

Yeah its pretty aggressive but i also like sliding the rear under braking so it dosent help. I did get 3500 out of a Pirelli Diablo before these though so its not just my style.

Good result though

Jon, that's the tyre I'm running front and back.  I'm not as aggressive as yourself by the sound of it but they seem to be pretty good.  I've done over a thouhsand miles on them so far and they look fine.  Will get a pic up as soon as I find the camera.

Had a mate follow me on the weekend in the rain and he said that the amount of water and crap that the tyre was chucking up at him was unbelievable which was why he had to move from side to side behind me and then eventually come past me.

Manic reckons that they were leaving a bit of a dry line through the wet as well.

funny how all that raving about the tyres turned to tears so quickly, sounds like they are far too soft and no real use in the real world afterall. I've heard of tyres lasting 1200 miles which is bugger all but 600 is taking the piss.  [wall]

Hope they listen and respond accordingly else they will get loads of bad PR and no one will buy them  :icon_thumright:

Very pleased with them myself Andy, lots more confidence than the BT014's (not that they were bad either) but I can feel myself getting the power on a little earlier in the corners than I used to with the Bridgeys.

They look like they'll do some distances as well so I'm happy.

Just watch Jon turn these into circles of playdoh though  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

Ian they look more like it for a road tyre mate. They are exactly the same cut as mine but slightly harder compound, which is obviously what i need. :icon_thumright:

Slim, You don't know until you try them though do you? They were shit hot when i fitted them and i still stand by that but the longevity of them is somewhat lacking to say the least.

They have said today that they class them as a track tyre though. :dontknow:

if they class them as a track tyre they should sell them as one with a warning of low mileage and not suitable for road mileage perhaps  :dontknow:  [wall]
