tyre sizes

can some please let me know the standed tyre size for an 05 zx10r i have on a met race tec m2 190/55 on rear and met race tec m1 120/70 leading the way these were on bike when i got it and ive lost my owners manual looking for something abit harder wearing any ideas guys   :icon_scratch: thinking duns 208 or mich hi sport or bridge bt014s   :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

standard would be a 190/50

don't go for the dunlops go for 014's or better pilot 2Ct's  :icon_thumright:

it should be a 190 50 on the rear but the 55 is fine too, well seems fine to me with mine at the moment.

The 208/218's aren't very good but it depends on how you ride and if it's not too psirited the 218's can be found really cheap but then again if you fgo the race scrub route that can be cheap too, I can't see any tyres lasting for a long time on a ten, maybe dead calm riding will give you 2000 on a rear and 3000 on a front  :dontknow:

I only managed 2,300 from my first 218 and 600 was gentle running in, must be my heavy hand on that throttle at times  :icon_thumright:

nah yogi had that punture stuff in there and it kept the temp slighty lower..... and quite a few of the miles was through france with kit so can't imagine that being really fast...

But I will say this yogi is no slouch he is Master YogiWanKanobi after all

thanks for the input guys massive help to me that thought i had a funny size tyre have not seen many 190/55 loads of 190/50  one of my mates have said met sport tec m1 ????? should i take the plunge and get them  :icon_thumright:

Yeh I hear it quite alot, I think theres alot of bad feedback because OE qualifers (like on 10R's I believe) are made in japan and made to a manufacturers spec which is harder rubber! Off the shelf qualifiers are reckognised to be a good tyre... as far as journo's go.

But my mate had them on a gixxer 750 and push's a bike harder than most and he rated them so I tried them and much more confidence in dry and wet with better wear compared to the 014's I had. On it's side you notice most of the difference.

Bridgestone's are a very neutral tyre where as Dunlops (and Michelins) are pointier so turn in different with bigger side wall.

Each to their own I guess but I want to try the Qualifier RR next  :lol:

The R6 cup use Dunlop qualifyers and they go pretty well on them.

how mads that kev my mate that told me about them has a K6 750 GSXR and has had 3 of them swears by them think i will give them a bash just like you said each to ther own had dunlops 207s on my zx6r and was happy with them just need to find something for my 10 now that iam happy with cheers dude :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :occasion14:

there was a guy in infinty farnborough that use a 10R at rockingham with the new dunlop race tyres and he said they were awesome  :dontknow:

Avons are cool though just wish I had money to throw away on them  :cry:
