Help re. car keys
« on: August 11, 2012, 09:21:27 AM »

My wife has lost one of the keys for her Nissan.  [wall] She still has one with the "chip" in it but I'm sure it won't be cheap to get a new one from Nissan and have it programmed to the ecu.

I've read that if you tape the chipped key near the ignition barrel, a "normal" cut key will start the car.

I know this renders the security system as useless but it's only short-term.

Any suggestions ?
cheers

yep that should work, but a lot high street key cutting shops can cut and program new keys as long as you have an original chipped key.

The one 1 used for my sprinter van :-
