Just a follow on from the riding in France thread ref to the being over the limit and having breathalizers

How many riders actually have a Drink while riding driving . Don't need to say how much and this isn't a thread to incriminate anyone.

I am just interested... For me Drinking is a very much I only do it to feel the effects of the alcohol so I wouldn't do it for the taste or an enjoyment etc and Riding for me holds it own buzz.. How many do drink just the one pint and still ride or a glass of wine and still ride...

I generally have a coke if I'm riding or driving but every so often I do like a half of Guinness, though only ever a half, and only as my first drink so its a long as poss before I get back on the bike or in the car

what does the drink do for you..

I am a diet coke addict I love the taste.. I would much prefer a diet coke over a cold lager for taste.... but if going out I am partial to a cold lager/premium vodka/ice cold copperberg

Well, yeah a nice ice cold Guinness is lovely, but I am generally like you, I only really drink to get drunk, or I don't see the point in spending 4 times as much for some liquid to chuck down my neck.  Having a half of Guinness though is generally the same as a soft drink

I had the choice taken away from me about 4 years ago so i dont drink at all now 

But before that if i was driving i wouldnt drink not only as i think its a really stupid thing to do but as above whats the point in only having 1 or 2 drinks id rather stick with soft drinks all night then 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks  (i feel this thread may also be where everyone admits there binge drinking  )

Dont drink at all if i am out on the bike the following day I personally find it gives me brain fade real quick. When i am out on it seriously its either coke or mineral water.
But when i do drink i like the Real Ales mostly

Im not a big drinker but i do like a drink every now and then, i do sometimes have a guiness or cider during the week as i like the taste of them but if im going to drive after i dont have any at all.
However if i only have a few i will drive the next day but if i have a skinfall i dont drive i get the missis to drive
 
the bike im pretty much the same but il only have no more than two beers if im in france and riding the bike the next day

I don't drink out a lot, rarely go to the pub but if I am on the bike the limit is 0 and if I am in a car the limit is 1 pint for me.

For me I feel the hazards are greater on a bike so I like to be as sharp as I can when on the bike.

Also if in a pub 1 drink leads to 2 then 3 and escalates real quickly.

I'd have a weak lager before driving or riding, at a pub meet etc...

Only because i enjoy the taste, i certainly dont feel the need to have more and then drive.

rarely drink anyway, but have a zero rule when driving or riding. Had a close shave a few years back and nearly lost my license, was to scary not knowing if i was going to pass or not. Think the self test kits available these days are a good idea, no good finding out when its to late, that your over the limit, plus drink does effect your judgement and not to keen on killing myself.

Riding is a whole different thing... I use my bike as a toy and thing of joy drinking alcohol would just ruin it for me and knowing the slowed down reactions and the escalated balls of steel would just be a massive no no for me ....

I guess I am just finding out that pretty much everyone is in the same boat pretty much zero drink if riding

But driving or riding = no alcohol

Riding has enough risk associated and i feel a need to be at the top of my game
