new helmet time , AGV with integral visor ?
« on: August 04, 2012, 10:43:01 PM »

so, perhaps time i bought a new helmet, i had a look in Gericke today and tried these AGV lids with an integral dark visor , it felt nice but are they any good ?

Comments please as I've not really paid much attention to developments in gear in the last few years

i'm an old got so fancied the idea of a clear visor with the integrated dark visor to pull down, to save all the hassle of changing visors but is it any good or crap with looking trough two visors when it's down ?

Andy, have had an AGV GP tech for 4 yrs now. Blows every other make into the weeds....sod all weight, slick design and construction, quality and durability stood the test of time and a couple of offs on track.
The Stealth is just as good for the road, although the GP tech for track duties. My Missus has the 2010 stealth and it's a lovely bit of kit.

I didnt like the AGV I had, mind you it was years ago.
They are a lot lighter than Arai, but just dont feel as comfortable for me

Personally, I think that most helmets with internal sun visors, because of the space needed for the mechanism, makes the riders look like space cadets with oversized helmets. I took a photo of my girlfriend wearing her Caberg, and then again wearing her new no-sun-visor Arai, and it looks like you could fit the Arai into the Caberg. She has subsequently binned the Caberg and vowed to never buy another helmet with an internal sunvisor.
