Your thoughts on this potentially deadly piece of foul play.
For me he should be banned for at least a season
40 seconds in to clip but a dirty race throughout

Wait a minute , watch the clip in that part for quite a few takes...

ok this was a dirty thing to do ... but look at it this way

He has to go on him, the other guy went way off the racing line .. like pisstake off the racing line he probably would of beat him on the brakes anyway , but he would of been off the racing line and pitched in...

now whether the other rider was doing that on purpose to make the other guy slow down knowing he had a slower bike or whether he was just not realising just how much he had drifted ... no excuses for bike contact though .... race ban point penalisation etc ... but I don't think he should be strung up  [whistle]

Using all of the available space on the circuit is all part of racing, whether on purpose or by accident.
Yeah ok he'd be unlikely to of made proper contact with his lid, and it's a little silly and a poor choice of action by him, but look at it this way - if you were a 3rd party not into bikes, switched the TV on and saw that, what would you think?
The term 'bringing the sport into disrepute' is quite apt here, cardinal sin. At this level you're supposed to be a professional, so act like it. Heat of racing is no excuse either.

Hung upside down by the balls and given a going over with pool cues is about right I reckon. 3 race ban would be a good alternative.
