Did my ZX10r earlier in the year. Basically its remove the entire front end, put new bearings in and replace entire front end, making sure everything gets torqued up right. Did my front brakes at the time (new pads, calipers cleaned and new brakelines). All together about five/six hours. Hope this helps mate.

I did mine on the 636 C1H a couple of weeks ago, the races punch out of the steering stem very easily, but getting the race off the stem was awkward, I ended up slicing it with a Dremel, to split it.  I then used the split race against the new race and gently tapped the new race back on, the split race then slipped off easily.

My bearings had done 73,000 miles, the tops looked like new, the bottoms looked like they'd been shot-blasted, with obvious indents where the balls had been hammering the races when riding over bumps.  I greased mine about 10k miles ago and it was enough to pass the mot, but the steering got steadily worse, forcing a change.

Two bearings with two races, taper rollers have a race built into them.  So I fitted the two races to the frame.

Your C1H doesn't have seperate balls there as pictured below.
One for the Bottom and one for the Top.
It's also worth getting the bottom seal as they very often get damaged when your removing the Bottom one from the stem.

That's Taper Roller Bearings Donkey - as standard they come with ball and cage.
Taper are very good on track with adjustable yokes, etc BUT for the road ball and cage are far superior, will outlast Tapers by a long way and are a lot stronger.
Saying that mine has Tapers - but it's not exactly standard  [whistle]

Yes - always change as a full set otherwise it defeats the object of putting new bearings in.
