i by no means am any good at bleeding brakes but the way ive done it is to get a clear plastic tube on the bleed nipple and hold it with your thumb over the end then get a mate/other half/well trained pet to pump the brake a few times then lock the bleed nipple off and pour the fluid out of the tube that stops air going back into the system and makes it a bit easier

tap the lines every now and then to try to move any air thats in there about too other then that its lots of messing about until its done right  :dontknow:

i was only reading yesterday how to bleed the brakes on my 10r there is a manual on this site , it said to bleed the m/c first then each calipper making sure not to let the fluid in the m/c to get to low. have a look on the manual pages. hope this helps as so far i have only asked for help on here and not been able to give any.

Doing my Brake lines at the moment, done the tube n jar as per but still spongy so i assume m/c wants bleeding  :iamwithstupid:  any tips on this or is it a case of cracking the banjo?
Cheers

If they're spongy after bleeding, cable tie the front brake on overnight, should push any air in the system to the top and stiffen up the brakes.

Yep, place a rag around the m/c and crack open the banjo. I also found it worth while to "back bleed" from the calipers using a big placcy syringe (e bay). Very difficult expelling all the old fluid from the Gen 1 calipers

in my opinion the gen1 calipers where badly designed in that the internal drillings between the upper and lower bores were positioned in a way that allowed air to become trapped and difficult to bleed out whilst fitted to the bike. Removing the calipers and pushing the pistons fully in, then blocking the pistons from moving out while bleeding helped. Then once refitted and after you pumped the pistons out to the discs, top up master cylinder and give a final bleed.
