Mapping & Dyno tomorrow

What do you guys think I should expect from her tomorrow?
She's heading into NDM for a mapping and dyno.

'07 barra, Akra bolt on's, PC3 & K&N.
Whilst she's there, I'm getting the steering damper re-valved so it actually does something. :)

I reckon 173.4bhp + 82ft/lbs of torque.

Yeah you should be looking for 170+ n smooth curve and air fuel mix

Depends on the weather, temperature, and how many miles you done.  Mine ran 169.3 at Motrac with only 2,000 miles from new, but it was a hot, airless day.  With all the moisture in the air you could get a bit extra.  Mine had bolt-on Akras, BMC filter, decat and PCIII with o2 eliminators.

Kinda surprised the read out yesterday. BHP was down from what I'd expect, but the torq was up.

After tweeking out the horrible snatchyness in the higher gears at constant throttle, she came away with 166.1bhp at the rear wheel with 87ft-lbs torque. I was hoping to see 170+. (Twin Akra bolt ons, K&N filter, PC3, O2 Eliminators)

He recommends I take out both cats with a link pipe as there would be some restriction with them. Do you guys agree? If so, where and what link pipes do you recommend?

The AFR looks like its messed up on the sheet too, but Steve said its because the fuel rod thingymagiddity only goes in one of the cans. He did 7 or 8 runs going leaner, and richer, and left it in the middle where the power curve was smoothest.

I think Motrac did 12 runs on mine, he had a real problem getting the fuelling right, but mine was one of the first D7Fs out and I had the o2 eliminators, which some say cause as many problems as they solve.  It sounds like the decat was worth the extra 3bhp I saw.

There aint a great difference between 167 and 170hp anyway. Just enjoy it.

Agree with Stupot,I had an '06 with full arrow system,DNA filter,o2 eliminators,pc3 etc & she put out 172bhp at the wheel,pretty standard I think..Cant see u getting over 170 without a full system

Also, the main point of a dyno is to get it to run better after putting power commanders and systems on.

Thats not too bad, considering a standard one will produce around 160 at the wheel. You'll only get a few BHP for cans, a couple for the filter, so 166 is OK. Did you clean the filter before you went? Were the plugs new? Its a nice flat power-curve though, and with all that torque, it should make it a better roadbike.

K&N was a week old before the dyno, so wouldn't of needed cleaning. I don't know what mileage are on the sparkplugs so they will be check/replaced over the coming weeks when I clear off a bit more debt owed on my credit card :) Have a new oil filter and oil waiting there too.

I didn't get an a/f printout with mine, but by plugging the laptop into the PC3, I can see in places they had to increase the fueling by as much as +30. I got a 4th gear power run, which produced 174.88 at the wheel, but the 'oil run' (where they accelerate hard in each each gear) produced 177+ in 4th, 5th & 6th.

The actual figures mean nothing in the real world. You could go run it on another Dyno tomorrow and be seeing 163, then a different one again the next day and be seeing 175.

The only real thing they are worth is for before and after figures run back to back on the same Dyno.  Or if you want a pissing contest with your mates, as long as you all run back to back on the same Dyno on the same day.

Take all Dyno readings with a pinch of salt.  :glasses9:

Agree.

I got 176 0r 178bhp from mine (197 top speed, ZX10R 08), with just an end can no PC3 or K&N, now I've a K&N air filter I'll get it re mapped and run again.

The guy's at Dyno said to me the power curve was smooth and don't waste my money on a Power commander save your money and get some sticky rubber or the best oil money can buy.

unless racing you'll not feel 3 bhp believe me.
