Dream Machine Wankpaint
« on: June 12, 2012, 09:36:40 PM »

The GSXR 1000 I bought in February was painted up as a Tommy Hill Worx rep by Dream Machine for Crescent Suzuki, although it is on a '10 plate it only had 100 miles on the clock and had been stored for 2 years ( reading between the lines I rekon the original buyer bought it as a tax fiddle as it was registered to a business).
Although the paintwork looks fantastic every time I go out on the bike when I get back there are more stone chips on it fairing, upper fairing, undertray. Some of them are not just small chips but quite large 'chunks'.
Has anyone else had issues with Dream Machine paintwork ?

I havn't had any dealings with dream machine but it sounds to me theres to much paint on it, the more paint the easier and bigger chips will be  [wall]
Its shit mate but they happen im affraid it doesn't help with the fact that we pay to much council tax and they cant be bothered to clean gravel patches and potholes  [naughty]

I've seen a few paint jobs done by dream machine and they all don't seem to keep their luster for long , And the ones they had on display at a show i went too, lets just say i wouldn't of wanted to put my name to them

It's race paint at the end of the day, very thin layers. Hardly plush factory finish out of a showroom
Try 'Padded Cell' What I've see there it's a lot more durable, and a heavier laqueur applied.

There was a chap on here a few years back who had a KTM RC8 in a dream machine colour scheme, he had no end of trouble. Not sure if he ever resolved them.

From what i've heard over the years Dream Machines paintwork can be very hit and miss, and more often miss than hit too.

Loads of other paintwork firms around who'll probably do a much better job.

dont all fall down with shock my replying to a thread  [rofl] ive been busy ... anyway with doing some airbrushing and reading up on painting / clear coating , alot of it is down to the clearcoat for chipping too hard and it chips too soft and it leaves markes it in . its a fin line between the two and even more so on plastics as you have the flexability of the palstic aswell .With stones being thrown at ur bike in excess of 100mph its pretty hard to protect a afer marktet paint job !!!! most OE plastic the colour is in the plastic with a light clear coat for shine hence less noticeable chips

It sure is every time I go out on my green ZX10 more and more black chips appear as the fairing is black with green paint on, I might have to go back to black bikes..................
