Gloves - recommendations please
« on: June 21, 2012, 02:13:53 PM »

After years of making do Ive decide to splash out on a decent set of gloves (no, not in that way!  :tongue3: )
I'm looking for recommendations from those with personal experience of the gloves you would recommend (ie not what you've read in a magazine or what a m8 reckons are good, gloves that you own/have owned only please).
PS. sports gloves not waterproof or anyfink

PPS. Pony to anyone who replies  :icon_thumleft:

Not as blingy as A-stars / knox etc.

These gloves are really comfy from the off... no breaking in. Big + half the price of some top sports gloves.

If you order over the net buy next size down.. im normally a med but bought small, they fit perfect!

I recently stumped up for the A* 365 goretex gloves and can report they're light enough to be used as an everyday sport glove, but also completely waterproof, I've gotten caught in some biblical downpours lately and they haven't let in a drop, awesome.

PS I can also vouch for the Hein Gericke gloves (crash survived and still wearing them)  :-S

I have some Alpinestars GP Plus, which are nice, well ventilated, and comfortable for a whole days riding. The only downside is that the larger sizes only seen to make the gloves wider, not necessarily longer, so with my XXL's, i have to leave the wrist strap looser than with other gloves i've owned (HG & Frank Thomas).

Lately, I ave mostly been wearing... Alpinestar.... I think they are SMX, I've had them a while and they still feel good, there is a softer material under where my thumb and forefinger go round the bar which has worn away but gloves still feel great. I prefer the short mx style gloves with not too much on the palm. Have had Dainese before but found the fingers a bit tight.

Also got a pair of Racer gloves with kangeroo leather palms. They feel quality for the money but too early to tell how they'll last.

I also bought these a few years back and have A* GP Pro's too, I prefer the Gericke gloves as they are more comfortable and just a better quality glove, for me the A*'s are in a lower quality league  :icon_thumright:

Knox Handroid.
Dont need 'wearing in' and are very comfortable from the first time you put them on.
Had mine about 18 months now with no problems.
 Look the bollocks too.
