JMT lithium-ion batteries can be recharged using standard controlled chargers (JMT, Optimate etc)).
The normal charging current usually corresponds to about the capacity (eg 2.8 Ah = 2.8 A charging current).
With a quick charge, even a charging current to be used, which corresponds to a maximum of 10 times the capacity (eg 2.8 Ah Charge Current = 28A).

Doing a quick search I see some are billed as race batteries, I've just got one and it was bought as a road battery. I'm not sure what the difference would be but I can find out

These are for normal road bikes and they aren't the small nickel/cadmium batteries that are used for racing which I think are just normal batteries but smaller. These are totally different and I'd give you a bit of a test report but I've only just got mine and it hasn't been used on the bike yet. Also this perhaps should be in the discount section if someone would like to move it.
There's also the possibility I can source carbon fibre bits and bobs if there's enough interest

The only fault I can come up with is that apparentely they don't always take the initial charge well from Optimate type chargers but in my case it did with no problems. A normal battery charger is recommended. Hope this helps

Can you give us an update on this?   How's the battery coping?  Does your bike have an alarm and does it drain the battery?  Do you have to put the charger on very often?

Sorry for the delay as I've been blatting round Spain for two weeks. I was rather hoping for no interest as my battery went dead and then the bottom blew out at the dealers as they were doing the recall mod. It's been returned to Germany at their request and they've given me a full refund. I'm still waiting for their report so I've no idea whether the charging fault was responsible or whether it was just a duff etc. If I ever find out I'll post but I obviously can't recommend these things now. Sorry
