eCheques are payments from buyers who have attached their bank details to their PayPal account, but do not have a valid backup funding source such as a credit or debit card. It may also be that their backup card has expired. So to ensure that a secure payment can still made, an eCheque is generated.

Sending an eCheque is a bit like sending someone a paper cheque, only it is done electronically. And because it is processed by PayPal, the payment is also protected and the sender and recipient do not need to share their financial details.

So if a ebay member

with just a number as a name...

3 positive feedbacks for relatively silly items hits your buy it now pays with an e chaque ... I can fully expect the payment to fail

have to dispute the ebay charges and relist the item .....  [wall]

Brilliant ...... well fingers crossed this is genuine  :emb:

and you still got to wait 10 to 14 days for PayPal to clear the funds or not ? and then you end up relisting your goods again .

Isnt it simply a case of waiting till the funds have cleared and in your account before sending the goods?

I'm fairly sure it just takes a little longer to clear into your paypal account ... if it all goes tits up paypal and ebay have a much easier and quicker system to deal with non payers and get a fee refund.

wouldn't take a low feedback count as possibly a non payer, everyone has to start somewhere.

Biggest problem for me, with ebay, is buyers who dispute an item after they get it, description or whatever, as paypal then block the funds in your account and it can take ages to resolve. Ebay system does tend to work in the buyers favor.

My No 1 tip for ebay sellers would be to make sure you can prove the buyer has received the goods. If you can't the buyer will almost certainly get a 100% refund if he says he never received the goods. ie, you sell a camera, they pay via paypal, you either send non signed for, or buyer collects from you a week later, you have no protection at all.

Anyway, good luck and hopefully you'll be posting up in the not to distant future that it all went smoothly ...

Cheers fella .... Well I will be sending it via a courier through my work and will be insured and will also need to be signed for...

I am also going to make sure the funds are withdrawn from paypal well before I send the item out as I don't trust Paypal to try and claw the money back...

hopefully this should stop any fraud buys... my only problem now is that I wanted a pretty quick sale I put a high buy it now price on it and also auction... the dude just bought it now so if all goes smoothly then I am quids in but if not I am in my eye down on money ... cause of the time it takes to sort the dispute relist the fees and well my time is precious so anything stopping me doing my other work will loose me money.

I had a problem witha pair od Sidi boots i sold on Ebay.

I sen them via Yodel's just before Christmas, paid for next day delivery. I sent the tracking number to the customer. Anyway Yodel are fooking useless after 3 days i got a message complaining of non arrival of goods. I typed the tracking number in and they were quite clearly at the customers local depot, emailed the customer and Paypal to check from themeselves the next thing was the money was frozen and a refund was being issued.

In the end i had to take photos of the collection note and send them to Paypal who eventually agreed in my favour, only just though.

Keep every proof of postage.
