Guarantee that is to stop those trying to bypass the "minimum distance apart" reg.

Donkey, they are not new RFR's, just a clarification of what's been in place for a very long time. The integrated indicators that affect the operation of the brake light (and vise versa) have always been a fail,  so have led indicators where at least 50% of the light source is not working. There's ways round everything but it's certainly nothing new.

In future disconnect your indicators, if they are not there they cannot be tested... i think lol

If they are fitted though dont they have to be working? So just unplugging them would still be a fail, you'd have to completely remove them altogether, front and rear.  :dontknow:

If it's there then it MUST work.
Regardless of what "IT" is.

Could be wrong but pretty sure that after a certain year indicators must be fitted and its not just a question of removing the switch etc, Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men , all MOT inspectors should follow this !  :icon_thumright:

From what i understand, it has to be there if it was produced with it...

Thats what my MOT tester told me last month. I think its an attempt to completely eradicate daytime mot's other than on things like trail bikes.

I personally have always hated those combi brake/indicator units, I think there dangerous and if involved in an accident because of use with one of them I don't think it would work out in the owners favor.

If I remember correctly bikes pre 1985 are allowed to be passed if the indicators and switch are not present, post 1985 they must have indicators unless they are going for a daytime MOT.  I could be wrong though.

Bit like the headlights,if you have noticed for the last 7 years or so bikes no longer come with a headlight switch as some ruling somewhere says the headlight must be on when the engine is running.
