Can I just chip in with one, puncture repair kit of some sort cause from bitter experience in France and Spain you'll get the nail in the middle of nowhere and it's far easier to cobble up a repair to get you to a garage than it is to call out and wait for your breakdown cover to come out. Other than that don't speed in built up areas as that's where the traps tend to be for obvious reasons and if you see cars coming the other way flashing you, especially in France, then it's usually a warning of police up ahead so don't ignore them !

In all seriousness though, there is meant to be a system of reporting stuff like this between countries but from what I heard its so tangled up in red tape, its going to be a few more years before it gets off the ground.

if you are going to the french gp the police will breatherlyse you if stopped, and full documents required. They are getting a bit of a pain on gp weekend now, I was stopped twice last year at junctions in the middle of nowhere. They blocked the road and pull over everyone

a few of us have went  over to holland/belguim the last couple of years ,headin to bastoyne and arnhem in july ,never had any bother ,we wouldnt even consider france because of all the shite they want us to carry
