Hello
« on: May 02, 2007, 01:59:39 PM »

Hi to all.

Pleased to be able to be here - looking forward to gaining some more knowledge on different ZX bits, and will help with my limited knowledge where I can.

Live in North West, and ride a KTM SuMo and I'm currently rebuilding a GSXr400 GK76a which has been stood for a few years. The gixxer is the reason I'm here tbh, I'm going to do a front end conversion to ZX636 forks (unsure if ZX10's are the same or not ?   :dontknow:  maybe someone can answer this in here for me ?)

So I may be from the dark side - but it's only until I can afford a ZX10 like I want !! haha. We can but dream.  :drunken_smilie:

Well, Hi to you all,

Mike          B-)

I am not sure about the B1 to be honest but I am sure that Jon can shed some light when he comes  on later  :icon_thumright:

keiron might have some fork legs available in a few weeks also so might be worth PMing him  :icon_thumright:

Thanks boys - great to have such a warm welcome. I'll get some pics up in the right section soon - I'm just made up at the moment as I rebuilt the carbs over the weekend and got it running last night - after it's been stood dormant in someones garage for 3 and a half years !!  :hello2:

Top notch.

I'll send Keiron a PM later, as I've done some ringing around breakers already and they want way too much for forks.

Ta,

Mike

Welcome to the site mate :icon_thumleft:

The gix sounds like a nice little project. The forks off the 03-04 636 are different to the 05 636 but fit the same yokes. I think the differences are internals and nitride coated legs, same goes for the 04-05 ZX10R forks.

Thanks for all the support boys - making me feel quite special ! haha  :hello2:

Davemfox - I'm in sunny ol' St. Helens for my sins.

Thanks for the fork info Jon177, has come in useful - as I'm trying to work out which is which at the moment. As long as they fit the same yokes I'll be OK. The conversion has been done before and I have all the info and dimensions ready to machine the necessary parts up, just need to get me some forks now !!

Gonna PM Keiron in a sec ref. forks as suggested below, but in the meantime if anyone knows of any for sale (plus the radial calipers too) then shout out.

Cheers,

Mike
