Well that wasn't quite as easy as expected! It's a bit of a pig to route the wiring from the back of the bike, as the plug is huge so you need to loosen everything to make it fit through all the gaps.
This plug was a right b*gger to get out. I damaged several fingers trying!


While I had it apart I took a couple of photos of my neat rear brake reservoir that is mounted behind the right hand side panel. It's a standard ZX6R reservoir and tubing. Fits like it was designed to go there.

I've downloaded a few maps from the DJ site. I'm going to try them first. If I find a good one I probably won't bother with dyno time. Wouldn't mind a run at a free dyno day somewhere though, just to find out what it makes.

Had my first ride out this afternoon with the PC fitted. I'm happy to report it has made a big improvement. It is much smoother at on / off throttle transitions and pulls much stronger from very low revs. It's got rid of the slight flat spot around 5k rpm before it takes off.

I chose to use map 504 from the dynojet site as that seemed to match my setup best - Akra bolt ons with no baffles, decat pipe, no O2 eliminators. Now I'm wondering whether a dyno setup could make it even better...

I have several mates who tell me the difference between
downloaded maps and a custom one is night and day.

When mine is fitted i'll use a download until i get time to go
to MSS in Colchester. :)

i thought there was a big improvement when i fitted mine few weeks ago, i even feel more comfident riding her harder now than i did before.

I'll probably get it dynoed one day, but for now I'm pretty happy with it. I agree on the confidence thing - because it is smoother I feel more confident getting on the throttle earlier, especially mid corner whilst leant over.

and i noticed the front wheel dont want to pop up so easy since i fitted the pcIII.

Can't say I've noticed that :). Mine pulls stronger from lower so if anything it's more prone to it. Accelerating hard to 150+ the bars will not stop waggling as the front is barely touching the ground :D
