Personally after getting the daytime MOT i would fit the rear brake light for safety, never could understand why they let any vehicle have a daytime only MOT cert without a rear brake light as AndyJ said about running up your arse  [naughty]
I wonder how you would fair with your Insurance company if someone did rear end you and it was proved they didn't see a brake light come on because you haven't got one ?

I know you can get an MOT without a chain guard fitted but you will get nicked as it's a construction of road use offense.

Asked my mot tester and he said they are introducing new rules stating that if fitted when new, it must have them...

So that pretty much knackers any daytime mot'ers...i think the only ones exempt will be trials bikes!

Just as point off note In 4 years have never been pickrd up for lack off chain guard, plenty off times for wheeling/speeding lol! but never had an issue with police.
