Bike trip pictures
« on: February 28, 2012, 03:09:06 PM »

So, there was mention in another thread of starting a new thread for people to share their trip pics, so thought I'd start on and feel free to add your own, no matter where or when the trip was  :icon_thumright:

So, our 2011 trip was approx 2,200 miles in 8 days across the Alps mountain range. 5 black sports bikes from Surrey, across on the Eurostar, rode down to South of France, into Italy, Switzerland and back out to France and home taking as much of the best roads on the Alps as we could.  We did point to point each day with every nights accomodation prebooked so we had no choice but to ride the distance no matter what the weather.  We had sun, wind, rain, snow, fog, you name it, we hit it.  The roads and scenery were absolutely amazing!!  :hello2: :headbang: :icon_thumleft:

So some choice pics:

The 'gang'

The five bikes on the morning after our first night

Some scenery and an example road we rode

Me flaking out after an extremely long and hot journey

A view from a hotel we stayed in with the road down in the valley we came in on

A dam I may have ridden at about 120 mph across  :tongue3:

Arty...

Rain, fog and twisties were 'interesting' (read shit scarey)

Snow and fog, 1000ft drops and no crash barriers was also 'interesting'

Another nice view of a sick road we did

And finally the state of my rear tyre when I arrived home!

[rofl] Unfortunately it was the last days motorway miles that killed the centre section of the tyre  :-( (You can even see the join line where the two halves meet)
