Ah the Mk2 Chopper, my younger sister had one in purple, I had the Mk1 in orange, I converted it to 6 speed with a double front chain wheel and derailier with lever on seat stem ! Fractured the frame doing wheelies and jumps and had it re brazed, Mk2 didnt have the problem, didn't wheelie as good due to shorter seat, bent rear frame tubes and welded forward ape hangers . . . . . happy days !

bloody hell that brings back some memories , I had a red one and have no idea if it was mark 1 or 2 and recall the day that I could finally wheelie it and from that day forward wheelies were the thing and that carried across into motorbikes

Yep - Budgie. Anyone find their nuts on the suicide lever on the Chopper?
I had the Striker with the "pedal back" brake - best skids EVERRRRRRR!
Then there was the Grifter with the 3 speed twist grip too.

so, thanks for the reminders.

I had a chipper and some fucker stole it whilst I was feeding some horses, then had it replaced with a tomahawk and then a mark 2 Chopper.....

happy days

I could wheelie the chopper forever and it was a monumental day the first time after many months of determination to lift that front wheel

Then it was a race........ and after a few months on came a set of red plastic coated 'cowhorns' and then i could wheelie the racer forever too ha ha ha ha

Remember when I had a secondhand purple MK1. I was only 10, maybe 11 years old, about 4 stone ringing wet. Bloody chopper weighed a tonne at the time, especially as all my mates had the new Raleigh Burner BMX with MAG WHEELS!!!!! Wow! Blue or Red tyres? Mental!!!  :headbang: And they weighed nothing in comparison, which was the case while I managed to fuck myself up trying to follow them over the near vertical jumps on the local BMX track.  Think the Chopper landed on me a few times, mum and dad said I was cooler than the other kids 'cause I had a Chopper. How right they were.  :glasses9:
