winter stuff - projects etc
« on: January 13, 2012, 09:36:20 PM »

come on guys and gals what are you all up to this winter , any plans to tweek your 10s ?

I'll start.......... I'm dusting mine over and sticking new plugs in (already serviced oil and filter that is), then clutch out to see if there are plates sticking as 5th was a problem on the limited miles i covered in 2011, well in 5th the clutch lever would move on it's own and then it's jump out of gear , i assume from standing for too long  [whistle]

I still love my 10R and might look at those bar lifters to make it a bit less agressive for my old bones , well ok perhaps more comfy wheelies  [whistle] :headbang:

So far in my downtime i've fitted:-
Hotbodies dark tint screen,
Danmoto GPExtreme end can,
Pazzo levers. (didn't like them, now back to standards)
Oil and filter change. Shell advance ultra and a K&N oilfilter.
New tyre BT016CC
Standard rear footpegs refitted. (didn't like the look with just a hanger)
Battery charger socket and cig lighter socket fitted under the seat.
Just a smaller front sprocket to fit.
Then its save a few pennies and book it in with our resident decal expert for a little facelift ;)

Powder coating footrest hangers black and adding some carbon heel plates. That's all finances will allow. Does that count?

Sorting out an XJ900 Diversion for a winter bike, heated grips, top box and panniers.....for those more sedate rides. Then I'ts a Suzuki Intruder 1500 to mess about with, new battery and a bit of brake fiddling. Brake caliper strip down for a Honda 450. New tyres and oil and filter change for the ZX10.

I've got an akra slip on to cut down and fit, a 1/5th throttle insert and hopefully a -1/+2 downgear to go on before the proper weather sets in  :headbang:

About six months ago I bought my old R6 race bike back off a mate. Got a bit bored of turkey and telly over the Christmas period so wandered out to the garage and turned the bike into a jigsaw puzzle.
