Missing link?
« on: November 20, 2011, 01:27:42 PM »

Posted on the the Macau GP yesterday after finding an obscure link that gave some detail on the qualifying session and featured Michael Rutter.

I put it in the general section and a number of members had taken a look. Strange thing is today I can't find my post to use my hyperlink?

Have only just started using this forum but I'm disappointed that my post has been moved or deleted without any explanation. There are other older posts on the Macau GP, from established members, that have not been moved or deleted?

It's here under 'All things racing' - http://www.zx10r.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,41.0.html

Please look before assuming your posts are deleted.

Thanks Dave. Actually I did look very hard and surprise surprise I can't see it.

Before you give dumb advice please make sure it's correct. What I can see is that I'm not going to fit in here.

Last post, bye all.  :icon_puke_r:

That is your prerogative and I am sorry that the search feature and also the listing under your profile does not let you see where all of your posts are.

I did attach the link so you can see where they are. Did this work?

No it wont work for him as he does not have access to that part of the forum as he is not a vip member.

I have been seeing this happen ever since the rules about access were changed, I paid me dues and became a full member and I dont begrudge that what so ever but I think its hurting this forum badly.

Have seen posts lately about how the forum is slow but its gotta have something to do with how fragmented its all become, people post stuff in what we see as the wrong section but for them its one of only a few options.

Looking at the forum without logging in you will see how much is actually missing.

Read it again Tim - it's how he phrased it - a quick look at the lefthand side would of shown him that Dave is one of the oldest members and also a MODERATOR - to then insult him with a smartarse comment is really rather stupid.

Dave, my apologies. Hammy is correct, I should have noted your status and longevity in the forum.

I reacted out of annoyance more than anything. I'm only a new member so haven't reached the point where I would have upgraded, and as NinjaTim says I couldn't see anything with the link you sent me.

Effectively I posted an item which I thought would be of general interest to the wider membership and then found I couldn't see it myself.

In any case I don't think I'll fit in as the other respondent has clearly stated. Stay safe, Ray.

Not sure this VIP thing is working out very well TBH.
There's got to be some better way of awarding "vips" without penalizing "non-vips" with a reduced access site.
Rather than awarding the paid up members all its doing is alienating everybody else.

Just my 2p. I'm not a paid up member. Mainly because I joined the official Kawasaki riders club. Then realised there are lots of clubs out there all of which seem incredibly quiet compared to the car club I'm in. Unless there is a benefit then any club I sign up to gets regular visits for a couple of weeks then I drift off. So far I'm not seeing a lot of updates to the front page which is a reasonable indicator of merit.
