Vinyl Wrapping etc.
« on: November 13, 2011, 08:59:58 PM »

Has any one tried vinyl wrapping or putting vinyl decals / stickers or their bikes.
I'm thinking of making up some number board graphics to fit to my zx6r.
Any pointers from those who have tried it / done it much appreciated.
P.B. magazine has done it recently.

Got the bike bug again, had a bit of a lay off the last 4mths for one reason or another

Cheers Daz.

Hi James,

I'm over in west side of Birmingham mate. If i recal you are over Corby way so a bit of a journey.

I have got some vinyl sheet of ebay and i am goin to cut out the shapes i need.
just wanted some advice on fitting, eg do you put soapy water on the panel so you can
position the piece without it sticking? then do you warm it up with hair dryer to dry out the water and make it stick?

Thanks mate,

Daz.

use a spray bottle with a drop of washing up liguid in it. That will make thh decal float then squeeze the water out using the wifes M&S card or some similiar clothing store credit card. Just make sure it hasn't got sharp edges my wifes are too poor to be sharp.

http://fullthrottledecals.co.uk/page10.html got instructions here.

a hair dryer can cause the vinyl to stretch best to let it dry over night, but you should be able to squeeze most out.start from teh middle and scrape towards teh edge
