Many times when i read review about 600cc or 1000cc sport bike  there is no way you could put 17 liters of petrol in bike tank.

I remember price for petrol when i was riding 98p per liter good old days.

I remember when it was seven shillings and sixpence for a gallon, 37.5p, before we went all decimal and got screwed into accepting litres.

Me maximum of petrol i could get in tank was 12 liters.

From what I've heard/read the tank is 17 litres but the fuel warning light comes on when there is 5 litres left.

Me maximum of petrol i could get in tank was 12 liters.

From 100% empty or from when the light comes on, as that would be perfect (see above).

The most I've had in there is about 15.5, the fuel light was on for a very long time!!

Are you filling it till you PHYSICALLY can't get any more in or just to the base of the filler neck?
There's room for over 2.5lts if you keep going after it reaches the filler neck.

dealer reckoned I would get 25 miles (max) once the light came on.....so took no chances....the 14.44 was to the absolute limit....maybe the dealer is wrong and the light comes on very early???

170 miles on a tank (taking it easy) and 16.6 ltrs to brim it again. I count on up to 40 miles once fuel light is on taking it easy, 20 ish if nailing it.
