Marco laid to rest
« on: October 27, 2011, 11:49:01 PM »

Just wanted to say Marco as everyone on here knows a legend was laid to rest today . Such a insperation a future world champion. Since the accident i have been in bits never knew the person he never knew me. Its affected me in a big way my wife cant really see it how i see it but i watched Marco every gp he was the cat amonst the pigeons give lorenzo a kick up the butt put some excitment into moto gp .He was the new Rossi, there was a future world champion in our freaky haird 250 champion. I have googled  every day to see what the outcome of the crash was yesterday his public viewing today finally too suddenly he was buried  . Such a sad loss to all i am and will be gutted many moons to come who is the new Simoncelli no - one there cant be hope you happy buddy you are on the top step now mate Ciao # 58 xx

Same here, obviously never knew him but I feel a great loss, like I've lost one of my own! He was a future champion who injected excitement and unpredictability into motogp. Fantastic abilities... I'll never forget him, RIP Marco x

Nicely worded Wedgie and your week sounds identical to mine, googling all I can, reading every site including trying to read the non english sites, my wife and 2 grown up kids feel exactly the same, we have all been big followers of Marco since watching his battles in the 250s.

I agree he was the new Rossi and cant see anyone coming anywhere near his stature in the coming years, he was one of a kind that just dont come along that often, I do actually feel he was bigger than motogp in much the same way Rossi has been in recent years.

Its really strange how this has affected me and as you all mention its a feeling of great loss, I even mentioned to my son this morning that I dont know if I can even watch motogp with the same enthusiasm in the future, I am sure that enthusiasm will in time come back as time IS a good healer but for now the grid will just seem rather empty without Marco to liven it up.

I am looking forward to seeing what tribute is awaiting at Valencia but at the same time not looking forward to the emotion that will once again well up inside.

Ciao Marko
