1. Don't go out on winter roads.
2. Rinse with fresh COLD water if you do......
3. If you are using it still squirt it with plenty of WD40 and reapply regular or get an ACF50 treatment ......

Some of you are missing the point! I've got the precious bikes all wrapped up out of the winter salt, I've bought a bike (though I am already protective of it, had it in bits today, it is INCREDIBLY clean....)to use on cold dry winter days, that was the point in buying it!
I was hoping for vertue and tips on keeping it prestine not falling over it in the house!!!

Just look after it, it's only salt, it does wash off.  You just need to keep on top of the wash, wax and lube regime.  I've got some ACF50, but it sits in it's bottle all year round, too much hassle for too little gain, just wash the bike when it's dirty.

For those that do....wash and rinse WELL, dry, then plenty of WD40 everywhere and wipe with clean soft cloth  Did 47.000 miles on a C1 ZX9R commuting in all weathers and not 1 corroded part. swear by that method  :icon_thumright:
