how do i release the seat cowl om my zx10r 08 model dont laugh

ive just brought a zx10r 08 model can someone tell me how do i release the rear seat cowl and how do i get to the battery many thanks

There'll be a key release mechanism under the rear fairing on the bikes left hand side. That should let you take the cowl off ok. To get to the battery you'll need to remove the riders seat as far as I remember. Take off the two infill panels either side of the tank (held on with 2 small bolts and velcro) then to get the seat off there's a small allen bolt on either side near the front of the seat base. You should then be able to lift the seat off and have access to the battery.  :icon_thumleft:

oh dear no i still cant find it if im sitting on the bike are you talking about the rear left hand side fairing maybe someone could post a picture of where it is . sorry if i sound dumb but its probally stairing at me but i just cant find it

You need to take the seat off and the two side panels (Black ones on my bike) and you will then see the exhaust solenoid motor (People normally put their PC3 in place of these) you will find the battery under there... Havent you got a manual you will find one on the net if you look I know of a good site...  :icon_thumright:

Sorry ur gonna kick urself when u find it

Its on the clutch side of the bike if you follow the green (well my fairings green) around the rear fairing you should see the key slot stick ur head under the seat fairing on that side an u cant miss it

 [rofl] [rofl] sorry but you have just bought one of the fastest bikes on the road ....and you cant find the key slot to open the seat  :tongue3:   

get down and look at your rear sprocket ...then look up and you will see it on the underside of seat unit ....
