Schoolboy error
« on: September 23, 2011, 08:34:37 AM »

Did Oulton Park on Wed and had a great day.
Did Silverstone yesterday on the Thursday and had a great day right until i ran out of talent and fell off the fucker.
I'm sore, the bike looks sore.
Hopefully both will fix, bike won't be getting much of a look at though until my ribs stop hurting.
Initial damage looks like a replacement tank maybe cheaper than a repair, right hand side clip-on. and another set of race fairings. 06/07 model.
Alternately i may call it a day at my age and make it into a sit up and beg.
AS a bike i never wanted, and didn't like. I have well and truely gelled with it and find it a complete please to ride.

So what happened?

4th session of the day, fast group. Held in the pits for ages,(that long that everyone turned their engines off.) we all shoot off like you do, slight left, right 90, 180 left, long straight. 180 left, 180 right hander (Luffield), 3rd gear possibly cold tyres, lose the front and thats that, sky, tarmac, sky, tarmac. bike slides off into the distance, hits the grass, bounces and lands in a pile. I got up and walked dazed to the barrier.
Tank has a big ding, RHS clip-on, RHS rearset needs a look at. Race fairings need a look at. etc.

Codine doing their job at the moment.

Update.............
The bike managed to flatten the rear tyre, went to the garage today and prised the tyre away from the rim a bit to remove some of Silverstones finest soil. Now the tyre is holding air pressure so that is good.
Initial damage is.
Dented tank, should repair easilly enough, RHS clip-on is bent. RHS Diamond rear set is slightly bent and the brake sticky out bit has sheared off. Crash bung needs a new Bolt amd Bung, but i have some bungs off my R1. Fairings need a bit of glassing up, so not much of an issue. Brembo, needs a service and a new lever.
So relatively happy about the damage at the moment, if one can be happy about damage???

The 06/07 is for poofs. Its ridden side saddle and looks like a wheelbarrow. The 04/05 is for real men with balls of steel and it is fueled by the very fires of hell!
