THROTTLE QUESTION
« on: October 01, 2011, 06:27:16 PM »

hi all, as some of you may know i got me self a zxr750 trackbike (92) reg
when i done a trackday last saterday i noticed that the throttle dosnt return fast anuff if you know what i mean ! if i give it a quick vroom and let go of the throttle it dosnt settle back to idle as quick as it should. so is it just a case of removing the cover over the cables and trying to get some 3in1 oil in to the cable past the cable cover, or will it be abit more to it than that....
thanks jeffo.......

Could be the actual throttle grip rubbing on the bar end or on the switchgear. If not that, then yea some lube down the cables and all over the carb end with the springs and whatnot should do the trick.

No mate nothing in there to spring out,if your still using the 7R throttle tube change it to a 10r throttle tube as it's a cheap way to get a quick action throttle.  They may look the same but it does work.

well looks like there is a kink in one of the cables and it has started to fray, so thought i would remove the cables and see if my local shop had some but when i was removing the fuel tank i must of hit the throttle cable link that screws to the side of the carb and ,yes, i snapped it of so not only do i need a cable but need carbs too. the joys of motoring  :crybaby2:

+1

Also check the closing cable hasn't snapped and that the cable routing is correct
