Ah !! the track day bug happened to me  :glasses9: and loved it, i would get a track bike to be honest as you can just use as is save changing fairings or worrying about daylight mot etc ( which is very easy) . I rarely go road riding anymore as i dont get the track day buzzzzzz. I did use my cbr1000rr for a 2400 mile trip and it was brilliant .

You can get a cheap track bike id personally go for a gsxr 750 srad first of the fuel injected, as for problems i dont think you know if somethings gonna break down or going , gearbox is either gonna be noist jumping out of gear or even a gear missing. Engine wise smokey rattly chain tenisoner noisy just take someone who knows a bit and a good thing is srad parts you can get hold of cheaply .

Go for a track bike or even an ex-race bike (most of em are actually well looked after with regular oil changes etc). Same rules apply as for buying any bike. Starting from cold, does it rattle, smoke, blow up etc. You get the picture.
There are some crackin deals out there if youre prepared to be patient and look around.
Spares obviously can come in handy if theyre included in the deal. WOW can also be a handy addition to the package. It doesnt much matter which bike you go for but I would personally stay mainstream. GSXR600/750, CBR600, ZX6R..... Anything where parts and spares are easily and readily available.
