Just gone for a 520 chain & sprocket conversion. Down a tooth at the front to 16 and up 2 on the rear to 41. This ratio was recommended to me by a friend who regularly raced Brands Indy which is my local circuit and where I do most track days. Just fitting the chain up and it seems I need an additional link to stock at 111 but I have to wind out the adjusters almost to the stops which just doesn't seem right. Presume that this lengthening of the wheel base will affect the handling somehow. I wonder if I'd be better off with just a 40 on the rear - I guess that this will enable me to shorten the chain to 110 and wind the rear back in a bit. Can someone explain what lengthening the wheelbase will do for the handling and whether dropping a tooth on the rear will give me the option of a shorter chain. Cheers guys...
