Seriously considering this as the rockingham trackday organised by FE for the same date has been cancelled.

Cheap as chips

Did the last one back end of last year, good day out, wore the tread right off the right side of rear, felt like riding on oil, not funny leant over at 100+mph  :tongue3:- had to miss the last session. :pottytrain2:
Hope everyone has a great day :headbang:

looks awesome...need to speak to the financial director.
If I'm serving a ban do I need a licence?

Mate, sadly but for obvious reasons a full licence is a requirement for the day. What did you get done for?

Well try and look on the optimistic side, the summons may take effect after the date, these things take time sometimes. Were you way over in ban territory?

I've booked and my cheque is in the post too.

Just one question Matt, am I correct in thinking the main straight has been reduced since last year? If so why? The straight is one of the main reasons for going, where else can you hold the bike wide open and top the bike out for 1.5 miles with no worries!

It won't stop me from coming, but, I will be quite disappointed if it's true.

Thanks Flipper

Flipper, those are my thoughts too. If you have seen the track plan on the website you will see an "in& out" or chicane like feature is planned however- Some riders raved about the straight others thought it too long (some 600 riders said they laid off it for the sake of their engines). I threw my view into the pot today re this- That plan cannot work, the reason being if someone over runs on the entry they will end up going into opposing traffic, that cannot be allowed to happen. Having discussed this the most that is this likely to be is a shallow chicane. This should infact add some more handling to the course without removing an area where we can top out. If it proves to be problamatic we will revert to what is tried and tested. Fear not, I shall see that all is good and fast  :headbang:

Thanks for your thoughts Robbo, I remember last year braking from 170mph to about 30mph for the tight left at the far end of the circuit and some people misjudged how much braking needed to be done and then shot past me (on my left and right!) just as I was tipping in. I think having a shallow chicane would definitely be better than the 'In and Out' which is displayed on the webpage, but, the thought of some misjudging their braking and shooting past at 140mph+ does send shivers up my spine.

With regards to the comments about the 600 riders saving their engine, the same could be said for the 1000 too. I was flat out for at least half of the straight on my 10, but the choice was mine, I could have cruised down there at 150mph if I choose to. Mind you, the thought of backing off and saving my engine never occured to me, I would be very surprised if an engine went pop after just one day of that. (Unless you didn't look after your bike properly that is!)

Folks, this event is steadily filling now, there is still space but booking earlier will avoid disappointment later. The final spaces went quicly in the last few weeks last year and there were plenty of disappointed people, we had to turn some away on the day too so it is best to book. I look forward to seeing you there!!!
