A lot of forums now have a adopted a policy were you have to donate to sell or see the stuff being sold section which I think is a bad move for there members, as it means there members have a smaller audience to sell to, but I don't make the rules and it is only my opinion.  If I paid on every forum I was on I would be even more poorer than I am now.

Another forum I use have a similar set up but the donation is exactly that and an option too, with no restrictions on what you can see or not as the case may be.
HOWEVER, there restriction is you cannot post in the for sale section unless your a regular poster with a lot of posts, i.e +50 posts.
That forum offers fantastic value for money and a donation was provided.

I will donate if I feel the site is worth it given the 'whole' content. There are plenty more sites out there that don't have this so I have the option to go elsewhere.

The fact I cannot access the for sale section is no loss to me, but if the whole site was accessible without the necessity of this silly rule then I would be obliged to donate out of courtesy and not 'forced' into it just to view that particular thread.

Other than that it's a top site  :icon_thumleft: with some top people on here who offer some top advice.  [pray]

These seem fair points to me, but as i remember, when you view the site as a guest, you can see everything but when you register, you can't see everything.  Paying to sell stuff is fine, but others may wish to buy stuff for sale on here but can't because they have no access to the for sale section.

It would be nice as a non contributing member to be able to reply to Parts wanted posts. I totally understand why the site has rules on advertising to help raise revenue for the site, however its different if a member is requesting something specific.

I rarely come to the site now as I've not owned a 10R for a while. I just had a quick look as a guest while passing some time and a saw a few low value bits in the wanted section which I have gathering dust in my loft. I'm not that fussed if I sell them or not but could have helped a member out. I logged in to post a reply but cannot as the section disappears. I'm not going to contribute to a site I no longer use (I contribute on a few other that I use regularly) but regular members maybe miss the chance of locating parts which they are specifically looking for.
